The Firm has been featured recently in legal blogs regarding its handling of a lawsuit involving Judge Robert S. Vance Jr., former candidate for Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Vance has been sued in federal court for actions that he has taken in a case which he did not preside over. Vance took over another judge's case without any authority to do so. His illegal actions had no minor effect. He entered a temporary restraining order in another judge's case depriving a trust of over $20 million in assets. He also went on to accept excessive campaign contributions from attorneys at the law firm litigating the case while the case was pending. Vance went on to deprive defendants of a jury trial.
